CSA produces two regular publications (free to members):
Discovery and Excavation in Scotland is an established journal w hich records all fieldwork undertaken and discoveries made in Scotland during the preceding year. It is a critical resource for archaeological research, and is unique in Europe. DES is launched at the ARP conference in May each year. Find out more about contributing to DES. Contributions are particularly welcomed from individuals and groups. The Hon. Editor of DES is Dr. Ellen McAdam.
The new submission deadline for entries to be included in the 2008 publication is the 15th November 2007.
Scottish Archaeological News is a wide-ranging newsletter published three times a year which highlights current political issues, societies' news, upcoming events and conferences, alongside feature articles and news. The Hon. Editor is Sue Anderson and the Hon. Assistant Editor is Mr Andrew Symington.
Other occasional publications are also produced, such as How to Record Scottish Graveyards by Betty Willsher, and also our Educational Resource Pack.

The Archaeological Resource and the Historic Environment - balancing conservation with development
Published in March 2001, this is a reference publication containing
recommendations which will enable local societies, amenity groups and
individuals to engage with the planning process with regard to
developments and their effect on archaeological remains.
How to Record Scottish Graveyards
Written by Betty Willsher, published in 1985. This is a recording
manual for surveying graveyards which addresses the need for a handbook
on a specific aspect of Scotland's past.
Our Vanishing Heritage - Forestry and Archaeology
Proceedings of a conference held in Inverness in 1987 which raised the
issue of the effects of afforestation on archaeological remains.
YAC Scottish Network Resource Pack
Developed primarily for use with the Scottish branches of the Young
Archaeologists Club, now also available to other educationalists to
enable them to carry out archaeological activities with children. The
pack consists of seven sections held in a ring-bound folder:
investigating local archaeology; using archaeological evidence; finding
out about time; textiles; making replica objects; drama; ancient
writing. Each section has background information and activity ideas.
Understanding Scottish Graveyards
Written by Betty Willsher and co-published in 2005 by the Council for
Scottish Archaeology and the National Museums of Scotland. An updated
edition of an out-of-print title.
