ACFA: The Association of Certificated Field Archaeologists (ACFA) was formed in 1987. Its membership comprises holders of the University of Glasgow Certificate in Field Archaeology, organised by the Department of Adult & Continuing Education.
ALGAO: Association of Local Government Archaeology Officers: Represents all archaeologists working for local authorities and national parks throughout England and Wales.
The Council for British Archaeology: The principal UK-wide non-governmental organisation that promotes knowledge, appreciation and care of the historic environment for the benefit of present and future generations. CSA’s sister organisation.
The Institute of Field Archaeologists (IFA): The organisation for archaeologists in the United Kingdom. It promotes professional standards and ethics for conserving, managing, understanding and promoting enjoyment of the heritage.
