Lifelong learning

Archaeology is both an occupation and a pastime and one of the most accessible subjects for people of all ages to take an interest and get involved in. Because of the variety of skills incorporated within archaeology, individuals from all manner of backgrounds and professions find they can become actively involved. Archaeology is an evolving subject, there is always new research, fieldwork and theories - so it's never too later to get involved.

You can enrol in a vocational course, study the subject on a part time or correspondence course, join a local archaeological society, and participate in national projects. Experience is not always necessary and often training is provided.
