CSA Resource Pack
CSA's resource pack of activity ideas was primarily developed for use with Young Archaeologists' Club branches in Scotland. However, it is also available to other interested groups and individuals, enabling people of varied archaeological experience or knowledge to carry out related archaeological activities with children.
It comprises seven sections on different topics held in a ring bound folder to allow additional sections to be added to it. Each section has background information and activity ideas. These cover:
- investigating local archaeology , including how to plan a project, produce a report, and useful sources of information.
- using archaeological evidence , including the rubbish game and examining buildings.
- finding out about time , including making time lines and the time game
- textiles , covering weaving, spinning, bobbin winding, making replicas
- making replica objects , including stone circles, jewellery, stone balls and pottery
- drama , including starting ideas, methods and themes
- ancient writing , from the earliest forms to quill pens and illuminated manuscripts
The pack costs £12 which includes the ring binder. Postage and packing is an additional £4.
