CSA Summer School
The 2007 Summer School has now taken place. Please visit these pages later in the year for details of the 2008 Summer School.
CSA has organised a Summer School for its members since 1952, when a week-long excursion to Dundee explored 'the problem of the Picts' under the direction of F.T. Wainwright. Currently, CSA stages a weekend field trip to a different part of the country in May each year. An enduringly popular initiative, the School is hosted by a local archaeological society and guided by experts who present lectures and introduce participants to the area's archaeological assets 'in the field'. The event is often launched with a civic reception, and activities such as evening visits to local museums often form part of the programme.
