Young Archaeologists' Club
The Young Archaeologists' Club is the only national club of its kind for young people interested in archaeology. It operates at two levels:
- individual membership, whereby young
people join the UK club and receive the
YAC magazine and other benefits
- a network of branches, whereby young people join their local branch.
Archaeology Scotland (the new name for CSA) co-ordinates and supports the YAC
branches in Scotland, where children between
8 and 16 can learn about and get involved
in their local archaeology. Each branch
is a member of the UK organisation. It
is not a requirement for branch members
to join the national YAC scheme, although
this is encouraged.
There
are 14 YAC branches in Scotland. Most branches meet
once a month for a range of fun activities, both
indoors and outdoors. For more information, including
details of your nearest branch, contact Michelle Allen, the
YAC Scottish Network Co-ordinator. You can also visit
the YAC website.
We are always looking for new leaders and we still do not have enough local branches.
