South East Perthshire Stone Circle Trail
The Archaeological Section of the Perthshire Society for Natural Science are expanding the stone circle trail which they created as an Adopt-a-Monument project in the 1990’s.
The current trail consists of the circle of Bandirran, Colen and Loanhead and will soon feature a further two sites (to be announced).
The group will clear undergrowth and debris away from the sites, promote the trail to the public, and continue to monitor the condition of the stones.
The adoption project will involve community members and schools, providing on-site training in archaeological survey techniques such as plane tabling.
The Exploring Perthshire’s Past! project (Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust) is working with CSA to support the project.
