DES/Bibliographic Enhancement

This project is a partnership between CSA and the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland. It attempts to address the need to maintain a fully up-to-date bibliographic record for Scottish archaeology.

The Bibliographic Enhancement Officer post, based at RCAHMS, incorporates all site references from CSA's annual journal, Discovery and Excavation in Scotland, into the electronic database of the National Monuments Record of Scotland. Scottish site references from other archaeological periodicals are also being added to the database as part of the project. The project also ensures the accuracy of locational information relating to Discovery and Excavation in Scotland, making this exemplary journal a simple way to keep up to date with current fieldwork in Scotland.
